INTENDED
USES:
To prevent wood rot and decay caused by moisture, apply Deck Flash Barrier to deck joists. Deck Flash Barrier creates a waterproof membrane that self-seals around screws, nails, and fasteners, blocking the primary pathway of water into the lumber and maximizing the life of the deck. Apply Deck Flash Barrier between treated lumber and metal surfaces to eliminate the potential for chemical corrosion of the metal.
INSTALLATION
Cut Deck Flash Barrier to the proper length and center it over the intended area of application. Remove the release paper and press in to place. To maximize adhesion, press with a small hand roller. When overlapping material from end to end, a minimum of a two inch overlap is required.
Install on dry surfaces at temperatures of 25o F or higher.
WARNINGS:
- Extreme caution should be used when walking or standing on Deck Flash Barrier. Although the surface is textured, it may become slippery.
- Deck Flash Barrier is designed to be covered by decking materials and should not be left exposed to sunlight for an extended period of time.
- Use of Deck Flash Barrier does not change the need for approved fasteners when using treated lumber.
